I liked the idea more in theory than in practice for several reasons. 1.) I don't like cables. 2.) I like wireless charging when possible, but there are a few issues: 1.) For travel, this wasn't in a bag, and with a metal USB Type-C connector hanging around, it's too risky to have this next to it to leave a laptop for fear of scratching his. All above. It would be nice to have at least one foldable USB Type-C connector. 2.) If you press too hard (let's say accidentally) on this dock while it's connected to your laptop, you're more likely to do something serious. Damage to the docking station and/or the MacBook Pro. The dock also has a lot of movement in terms of wobble when plugged in, which I don't care. 3.) There is a white LED on the docking station that is constantly on. Whether you're charging your AirPods or not, when the dock is connected, it will light up. It doesn't make any sense to me. It should be on when the AirPods are charging and off when they're not charging. Or at least a different color to indicate the charge level. 4.) Finally, I see strange behavior when AirPods are fully charged. On all of my other wireless chargers, the light on the case is amber briefly when charging (then goes off) and green when the device is fully charged, and this light also goes off after a few seconds. With this dock, the light turns green when fully charged and then flashes/goes out/lights up again - all the time, a feature I don't like. All in all it's an interesting idea but I'm not overly impressed and I think with a little thought and testing this could be a much better product than it actually is. 3 out of 5 stars. Good.
