Review on Translucent Phthalate-Free Brush Block Protector by Barbara Evans

Surprisingly effective

Irish and II HATE sun protection. I know powders are potentially dangerous: inhalation, eye contact, missed spots. But the thing is, I just avoid using other types of sunscreen, so this seemed like the only way to force me to wear it. Expensive, yes. But then again, I wouldn't wear sunscreen otherwise. I still don't like the feel of anything on my skin, but light powder is much easier to apply. And like I said, it was amazingly effective. I've had a few activities in full sun this summer that I know would have resulted in burns and damage if I hadn't had them. It's hard to tell how much you actually applied, so I'm just trying to run over each area a few times. I apply it to all exposed areas of skin: top of feet, upper chest, neck, shoulders, arms, etc. I feel a bit uncomfortable applying it - it should look like I'm tediously applying makeup with a small brush. - Otherwise I would have to run in the tent or get sunburned. I hold my breath while applying it and try to take a few steps away from where I applied it. When I'm done with one part of the body, I do the next area, repeat. The container is very light and compact. I keep it in my makeup bag. It's the biggest, but it's a lot lighter and less messy than liquid sunscreen. I will continue to try other powder brands that seem worth checking out. This is the only one I've tried. So far it's powder for me.
