Buy a well-known brand, not a non-brand like Themaltake!

3 year warranty doesn't matter if the device doesn't work straight away! What a shame that a new product doesn't work at all straight out of the box! I usually use Voyager from NewerTech, the NewerTech brand was the first to make and sell this type of hard drive dock and I currently use four of them. I think I bought one of their first models about 12 years ago. When it comes to hard drive cases, I spend money and do technical comparisons to make sure I'm buying a quality and safe box for my precious drives. . I took a risk by purchasing an unbranded thermal take. I keep about 35TB of hard drives between my two MacBook Pros and have been building my own external drives for almost 20 years. A few years ago IDE and now SATA. Well, when I inserted one of my bare hard drives into the back slot of this dual BlacX Duet, nothing happened. Numerous attempts and no results, the drive will not spin up. When the same disc is inserted into the front slot, the disc sometimes spins, but the disc never shows up in the finder. The rear slit lights never came on, and sometimes the front slit lights came on but nothing happened. The hard drive never showed up. Thermaltake BlacX Duet 2.5"/ 3.5" SATA I/II/III USB 3.0 External Hard Drive Enclosure Docking Station ST0014U-C The same drive works without any problems though, try it in one of my NewerTech Voyager first. https://www.amazon.com/Newer-Voyager-USB3-0-Super-NWTU3S3HD/dp/B007TTQQIA/ I just want NewerTech to make a dual hard drive bay dock with USB-C connectivity! In any event, an hour after opening, the BlacX Duet was back in the box and given an RMA label. I'm staying with NewerTech!
