I used an old shelf stereo to listen to music in my garage and sent music from my iPhone to a little BT receiver that connected to the system with an RCA cable was connected. It worked but was difficult to connect every time and was a huge waste of space for the whole system (cassette, cd player, tuner etc) when I just needed an amp and speakers. When I saw this BT receiver and amplifier combo I was really intrigued - it almost replaced the entire old system with a very tiny little device. I hooked up this unit in about 3 minutes simply by directly connecting the speaker wires from my Bose 161 speaker. to the speaker outputs (no banana plugs yet, although I'll most likely switch to that. The BT connection was noticed right away by my phone and connected without a fuss. And I didn't have to read any instructions to get it working. The only issue I have when setting up there was sparking when I plugged the receiver into the power supply. It was weird but didn't seem to damage the unit. In the future I will be plugging the power supply into the receiver before plugging the PS in. The power strip. Quality, the sound was very good and the power levels more than adequate for my needs BT automatically connects to my phone when the receiver is on and I have no range issues allowing me to easily walk the 30+ feet they claim installed the receiver on a shelf about 7 feet high and held it open by my phone.) This can be a good solution for adding sound to other places in my house where I don't have speakers and don't want to mess around with adding connections to my main audio at home.
