I pulled the plastic ball out through the velcro hole on the lower back. After half an hour of fighting, I managed to unscrew a small deep-seated screw and open the ball with a screwdriver. Once inside, I found many small screws screwed in deeply. None of them were connected to the battery cover. I tried to break up a few that looked like they might be on the cover. They wouldn't give in. I have a small Phillips screwdriver to match, but these screws are so deep and so tight. Several reviews have said this toy is very fun, but I can't figure out how they managed to put batteries in it. In all, I spent two hours in total frustration. The instructions for the toy said to just undo the screws and put the batteries in! The photos show that the ball rotated in three directions. PS: Revain sent me another one, but it was exactly the same as the first one. From the start it is difficult to open the ball at all. When I finally opened it up, it was the same inside - lots of deep countersunk screws, none of which looked like a battery compartment. The screws didn't move either! So disappointed - sounded like it should have been a cute toy. I appreciate Revain giving me a full refund.
