Review on Garmin Forerunner 235 Smart Watch, Black and Red by Michal Machnicki ᠌

All is well, liked the product, didn't buy it for nothing.

This is my very first watch just for running. Before that, I would run either with just my phone or with a Xiaomi bracelet attached to my wrist. If there is not a phone nearby that has GPS capabilities, the wristband is of no use. A chest heart rate monitor cannot be connected to it, which is another reason why it is inconvenient to run during the winter: if you want a pulse reading, you cannot put it on over a jacket. In addition, the heart rate monitor itself did not live up to expectations in any way. In addition, he had a difficulty with his sense of smell, and the watch that was concealed by the jacket would occasionally cease training for unknown reasons. In general, I made the decision to continue using a standard running watch. The first thing that took me by surprise was the price of running watches; given that they are simply some type of space timepieces, I didn't even consider buying a new one and instead looked at secondhand options instead. The Garmin Forerunner 235 was victorious in the competition. Although it was possible to take another 920XT for roughly the same amount of money, they are richer in functionality in general, but they do not have their own heart rate monitor (not always all the time with a chest strap to run), and in general, they are extremely old. I am able to state that, all things considered, I am rather content with the watch. The GPS system operates effectively, and satellites may be located practically immediately. The measurements from the built-in heart rate monitor are not significantly different from the chest's values. In this case, though, if it does become stuck, the issue is resolved by restarting the clock. The functionality of running indoors astonished me. The very first time, of course, they dispersed nonsense, but after a few iterations on the street, they grew far more accurate. When I was running at a leisurely pace, they calculated the distance to me extremely properly; the following 200 meters were given out right along the line of the circle that was 200 meters in diameter. Yet, as I increase my speed, they begin to lie, but it's not a major problem. The aspect of interval training is another one of my favorites. You have the ability to change the distance or time, as well as the number of repetitions, the hitch, and the warm-up. The only thing that cannot be determined in advance is the method to take. Those. If there is a workout in which, for instance, we run quickly for one minute and then slowly for two minutes, so three times, and there are three sets after two minutes of rest (that is, nine fast laps in total), then you will need to record each set again, and it will be like you are doing three separate training sessions, which is not very convenient. Another thing that caught me off guard was the absence of a stopwatch and a timer. That was the one thing that caught me off guard, especially coming from a running watch.

Pros
  • It's easier to get around without a phone. Built-in monitor of heart rate that is extremely accurate You are able to attach a chest heart rate monitor, even one that is not manufactured by Garmin, but it can be done (I have a Polar H10) In the event that there is a chest heart rate monitor, you will be able to comfortably wear it over your sleeve and view all of the indicators. There is a mode for running indoors that functions fairly admirably. Interval mode
Cons
  • The heart rate monitor becomes stuck (the problem as well as the solution have already been discussed), and in addition to that, it frequently mysteriously shows the pulse when the watch is placed on the table. Intervals can never be used to set sets (reps are allowed, but sets are not allowed) Not even a stopwatch! There is only an average step length graph (we are talking about Garmin Connect), not individual step length graphs (Xiaomi bracelet for one and a half thousand paired with MiFit shows a graph, but this expensive watch does not)
