I had a Cisco Linksys WRT54G2 router that got me hooked on reboots. After purchasing the DIR-615, I finally enjoyed a Wi-Fi router for the first time in my life. A lot of people complain that this router isn't very good, but trust me, it's the best. Before I bought this one, I checked it out on the CNET website and they rated it in the top 5 categories, and when I placed an order on Amazon without reading people's reviews, it was too late to place the order to cancel after seeing that there were too many people writing negative reviews. about it, but thank god I didn't cancel the order, it's the best router I've ever seen. I live in a 2 bedroom house and it works like a charm. If you want a router for long-distance communication, you should buy D-LINK XTREME. Setting up the router is very easy. No software needs to be installed. When you get your router you must first check if your laptop or desktop WiFi is enabled, after that plug your DSL modem cable into port 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 of one of them, you will see the dlink signal, Connect the computer to this signal. You will be asked if this router is new, if you want to configure it click yes or no. If you click No, your Wi-Fi connection is not secure and anyone can use your Internet connection through the router. If you click Yes, you will be asked for the serial number of the router. On the bottom of the router you will find this serial number, just enter the serial number and click yes. Then continue to click "Yes" regardless of whether the message appears on your computer or not. There are two serial numbers on the bottom of the router, one for Mac (Apple computers) and one for your PC. So if you want your connection to be secure use that serial number or if you want your connection to be shared with your neighbors don't enter a serial number and your connection will be insecure and anyone can use your internet. Stay away from Linksys or you will regret your purchase.
