I've used Autel brand scanners for the past few years, starting with a TPMS scanner that quickly identified an intermittent sensor problem. Based on this experience I started using their OBDII scan tools. I jumped at the chance to get the MK808. Although I consider myself an advanced hobbyist, I have a good friend who is a professional mechanic. It uses the Bluetooth version of the very similar Autel scanner, so I was already familiar with the basic setup and use of these tools. I also knew this was his favorite scanner to use, which is strong endorsement. Autel is a very well established and respected brand in the diagnostic tool industry. The equipment is of high quality, the software runs stably and is updated regularly. The MK808 offers advanced features that fully justify its price.
