Pretty handy but annoying label on front rubs ankle

OK. I wear these Chinese-made water and yoga shoes indoors to test fit and comfort. As others have noted, the fit is correct - that's why I wear a size 8 shoe and ordered a size 8 (39 EU). This was a relief because there are so many individual shoe sizes and I will be wearing my water/yoga shoes without socks. I love the look of them and would really consider ordering another pair for outdoor use. But I'll wait and see what the comfort looks like. I think stretchy laces are a great way to customize the shoe for each foot. Rubber-soled water shoes without laces tend to be cheap and allow the foot to slide from side to side, which can lead to a twisted ankle. But at the top of the laces is a triangular tag that's strictly for fashion. It protrudes a good half inch past the top of the boot and rubs the front of my ankle which is NOT that good. If it rubs so hard that it rubs against my skin, I'll have to cut it off. In addition, the shoes have the typical chemical smell that many new rubber products have. I hope this goes away with time. Maybe I could even throw them in the laundry. I like the toe loop on the heel of the shoe which makes it easy to pull the heel out and slip the shoe on. I will wear them indoors to yoga and maybe buy a second pair for water sports this summer. The sole is MUCH better than the cheap cyan versions of the boot with no laces (or velcro) to keep the shoe in place. In this respect they are very well made - a GOOD sole with good grip. Another thing is that the rubber sole does NOT create static electricity when worn on a carpet here in my house where the humidity is very low - 20% or less.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
