Having a few extra Thunderbolt 3 cables is especially important if you have a Thunderbolt-equipped MacBook Pro or other devices. Many accessories that can take advantage of the dramatically increased speed don't come with the necessary cord to get the benefit, or your cat may have thought your previously working cord was some sort of toy. Either way, it's a good idea to have on the shelf.
