I requested this as a lightening product to help with build up around my hair follicles and scalp. I don't really have a problem with an itchy scalp or dandruff but I take a lot more care of my scalp than ever because these days my hair is always dry or falling out too much for my liking. I use a lot of thick and heavy conditioners to combat dryness so I think using this once a week has helped with buildup or excess oil without stripping my hair. I use this maybe 2 times a month and am happy with the results. ymmv, while every scalp is different and has different needs, so you need to find a chart that's right for you. I think it would be good to use more daily if you have an oilier scalp or put more product on your hair than I do. I also love that it doesn't come in a plastic tube! It's not that big of a tube, but since I don't use it often and it's only for the scalp, I don't think it's too much of a problem for me. I plan to get more when I'm gone :)
