This is an HDMI adapter for connecting the Wii to modern TVs. There are cheaper options, but the Wii only outputs a 480i/480p signal, so those who claim to "upscale" to 720p or 1080p don't benefit the Wii's picture. This leaves it at 480p as if you were using a component (Red/Green/Blue/White/Red) cable. This gives a sharper image than with a yellow/white/red cable and requires no additional image processing. You just plug it in and go. You may need to go into the Wii settings and change the picture from 480i to 480p. The resulting picture is significantly sharper than with a standard R/W/Y cable and looks good on modern TVs. Obviously this machine is several generations old so the quality won't compete with the Switch or even the WiiU, but it looks good and many Wii games hold up well today. So I am very happy with this cable and its simplicity, it looks well made and is a great option for connecting Wii to HDMI.
