My home PC is equipped with an HP 2015 mono laser printer that has served me well for years and runs on three operating systems. HP's hardware approach to laser printers includes two main component assemblies: the toner cartridge, which contains a new photoconductor and toner powder reservoir, and key operational hardware components such as paper trays, paper path components, and a fuser assembly that "develops" the drum. Image on paper with toner powder and heat from a fuser. Product 53A is an HP branded cartridge consisting of a new photoconductor and toner powder combined in a plastic cartridge that plugs into the printer. . Although the cartridge is relatively expensive, it replaces two of the most commonly used components in a laser printer and therefore provides rather consistent, high-quality printing. Given that the cost of a cartridge is a significant percentage of the cost of a printer, I believe the best results are achieved with an HP branded cartridge purchased at the lowest price you can find. While I have never used "remanufactured" cartridges, a few friends and acquaintances have used them with mixed results and their advice has generally been that remanufactured cartridges might be suitable for everyday use or for internal business reporting, but for printed matter such as invoices, Bank statements , and shipping labels are best created using HP branded cartridges. The pad I bought had to be inserted almost immediately upon receipt and my trusty P2015 provided me with quality print material without delay.
