Review on Nokian Tires Nordman 7 205/55 R16 94T winter by Anna Czirnku ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

I left during the 17-18 season. In theory, I should be okay with anything. None of the spikes ejected themselves. Hong Kong is where the action is at. Genuine, no-nonsense winter tires with a strict tread design. It's loud, to be sure, but that's to be expected with spikes. It quieted down after I ran for 2 kilometers. The potential for Hong Kongization is high. There's no doubt you'll have a great time sliding down the ice in the parking lot. However, asphalt is not the unpleasant component of this rubber. Poor control on both dry and wet pavement (but then, what do you expect from spikes?). The next time I go, I'm bringing decent winter tires without spikes. However, there is a single exception. Unfortunately, many of the Velcro options available to us are inappropriate here. For use in congested urban areas, a variation of the Nokia sans spikes (but otherwise identical tread pattern) is an excellent choice. The absence of thorns is preferable, without a doubt, in urban areas where they are actively irrigated with reagents. If you happen to be a country bumpkin, by all means take it; you won't be sorry.

Pros
  • A sound plan, but not for metropolitan areas. For the countryside and its icy roads.
Cons
  • It's loud and sturdy, but that's because it has a reinforced sidewall (XL index) (index 99). Index 95 was the wrong choice.
