I have a plastic tongue scraper that I have used that I really like better than this one. But my friend has a metal one, so I tried it out to see if I liked it. Let's just say it works, but afterwards my tongue was quite sensitive as it doesn't work and not all plastics work well either. I've tried a few plastics and now these and most plastics don't work but one of my plastics works and I really like it better than these but these I will use for travel and leave my good ones at home. My tongue has become quite sensitive since trying this. I don't think I've damaged it, but I have an underlying condition due to reflux that has affected the inside of my mouth and throat, so maybe I'm just being overly sensitive. Other people have appreciated and loved them, and it's true that the key to a cleaner mouth and better breathing is definitely using a tongue scraper. I wish I could love them but I have to be honest with myself, I have to be very careful when using them not to press too hard. I'll try again before the trip to see if I like it better, but for now I'll just use my regular plastic tongue scraper.
