If you try to protect it from the sun it will do. If you're trying to protect it from the rain, then not so much. Maybe it would be better if it was a light misty rain. But here in Miami and South Florida, no matter how hard it rains, the rain gets through. It's a shame because it actually looks and feels like a good case. I found this out after the return period had passed so I can't return it now and I've noticed my bike has rust spots since I've used this finish. Even if you are wondering if it will fit a Honda Shadow Phantom, it fits almost perfectly as you can see from the photos.
