For wearable gimbals and stabilizers I'm good with this
It is exactly what is shown in the picture and using or removing the phone case will probably help you adjust the phone when installing. It's safe for me on two different phones as long as I have a case. So they probably planned to use it that way. That's a good chunk to start with.
