I have a DIY Linux file server and needed a better place to house my 5 drive setup (2x WD Green 1.0TB RAID-1 + 2x Seagate 1, 5TB RAID-1 + 500GB system/boot drive). This stand did its job perfectly. Installation was fairly easy - just screw four thumbscrews onto each drive and then slide it into the rack bay. The plastic latch was a bit tight for my WD drives, but my Seagate drives snapped in easily. Once assembled, the whole case looks pretty solid (no wobbling of drives, etc.). I opted for the 200W PSU from the leftover case to use these drives outdoors. The fan works decently, if not the quietest; However, it's only in the cabinet anyway, and the drives themselves combined are a lot louder than the fan, so it's not too bad. organize and move. Just a dangling power supply isn't the most secure or aesthetic thing. But then again, that's not such a big deal in a server closet. For the price, I probably couldn't ask for more, which is why I would recommend this to anyone looking to expand their storage solution.
