The base unit (the one that connects to the land line) need to connect physically to an ethernet cable, so both Your land line and You internet connections need to be together. Yes You can connect only the land line but You lose all the original idea of Alexa.2. You need that Your ethernet cable to be on the same network (IP Address) of Your WiFi network (in case that You have a router)3. This is the reason for the 3 starts. All Your phones numbers need to be register on Alexa, so in many cases Alexa cant call to specific numbers.4. The interface and speed of the phones are low, so everything on the menu is super slow.
