It's a little tricky not to "stain" the electrical probes as instructed. The mechanism that distributes the electric current is 3/8 inch wide, which seems reasonable but leaves no room when carbon buildup is present. Of course you can wipe the wick before each use, but really...I just want to light my candle! Still, it's a really cool little gadget and a lot safer than the alternative! And it holds a charge for a long time. Bought 3 weeks ago. I light my candles (2-3 candles) maybe 3-4 times a week and only had to charge once. I definitely recommend this product. With a little proactive wick trimming, this product is flawless :)
