Purchased 17 Dec 2021 - Did not work 8 Aug 2021 - - - I had a flat tire a few weeks ago. The lift worked well to lower my spare tire and raise the lift to drive the van safely. I bought a new spare part and today I wanted to put it on an empty lift. The lift is down 6-8 inches and will not go down and will not fully retract to drive my van without the lift swinging underneath. It only worked 2 raise/lower cycles: checking during installation and removing the spare wheel after a flat tire. I have a non-cancellable prepaid trip scheduled this weekend and need to travel the interstates. I don't know what to do and what to buy as a replacement. - - - - Original Review - - - -Use a 1999 E-150 van as a camper. The cable holding the spare tire snapped. Found a replacement for Revain. I crawled under the van, sprayed some lube to loosen the nuts, and waited a bit. They removed the old broken elevator and put a new one in its place. I seem to remember that there were only 4 screws to loosen and put back (maybe 6). I've driven it for several hundred kilometers both in the city and on the freeway. The spare tire is still firmly and firmly secured. PS I'm a sweet 75 year old woman with tools who knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about cars.
