I know the measurements in the product name are correct but I was still surprised at how big this box was when I got it in front of me . Using a tape measure and my imagination, I didn't quite get the size of the box right when I ordered it. Anyway, I use this box to hold some brushes. The Liquitex Basics #12 flat brush and #4 fan brush fit easily and are long handled brushes. This wooden box is well assembled and finished. The finish isn't super glossy, but it's not completely bare wood either. It's nice to have something made of wood instead of plastic or cardboard. The golden Pro Art badge gives the box an extraordinary look. I have a few criticisms of this box. First, the sliding lid doesn't fit snugly against mine. The lid will move slightly when in the groove. Ratings range from a tight lid to a loose lid, so the lid's fit is a potential issue. My second suggestion or criticism: I wish there was some kind of soft lining or foam inside the box. If you only have a few brushes or small objects in it, they will rattle when you move the box.
