Review on 🎡 Crosley CR6010A-RE Collegiate USB Turntable with Ripping and Editing Software for Audio, Red & Cream by Mike Bigglesworth

Variable speed for home audio

I wanted to love this cool looking little turntable. I really did. I have a hi-fi system in the office, but I need a portable player to play vinyl around the house. I ordered this product and was thrilled when I unpacked it. This is a really cool design. The device itself feels solid, but the handle is made of lightweight plastic. I haven't had it long enough to see how easily it breaks, but I don't think it will take much effort to break it. The problem I had with this model was the inconsistent speed of the platter. It spins too fast, which is imperceptible on some pieces of music, but clearly perceptible on vocals and some instruments like the piano. Someone using this as background music might not realize their records are spinning too fast, but I couldn't take it. .The speaker quality was satisfactory for such a small player. If Crosley can address quality control issues like speed variations and improve detail quality, this could be a cool little turntable. Until then I'll wait.
