Review on Brooks Glycerin Black Ebony 10 5 Sports & Fitness in Running by Tommy Penn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

What happened to Brooks?

I've sworn by Brooks for years. In particular, the Glycerin series (from Glycerin 12 to this pair of Glycerin 19) with a bit of adrenaline here and there. It seems that each iteration loses quality and increases in price. I have these 19's and before I could lace up the first one I wanted to take them off and throw them away. I put them both on, laced them up and walked around the house. If I had been blindfolded, I would have guessed that someone had taped a golf ball under my heel and another under the balls of my feet. The Glycerin series is positioned as a shoe for people with high arches, and it really was - at least once. Now they seem to be doing their best to make shoes designed for maximum injury as quickly as possible. I'm almost certain I have plantar fasciitis with a touch of Achilles tendinitis after opening my shoebox. These shoes are garbage. If you want to experience it, just have someone hit you with a hammer like Kathy Bates did in Misery and you'll save $150.

Pros
  • Made in the USA or Imported
Cons
  • Good, but not great
