This is a great soap dispenser. It has a large capacity and long battery life to go with it. It was so great that I bought another one for the other bathroom. I read reviews about it being top heavy--if that is a concern, you can refill it when it gets down to a quarter full. As for sound, it depends on the surface you sit it on. If you think it's too loud, just put a towel under it. The first one, I put in regular liquid soap with water and it is great. The second, I tried the foaming soap and found I like it a little watered down.
