It has non-slip silicone pads on the surface and on the bottom of the stand to prevent movement. There are extra pads in the pack. It folds up into a backpack for easy storage. I also like the edge of the surface that prevents the laptop from falling over. I put my old HP 15.6" laptop on a stand and everything is fine. (See photo) You can use this stand without hesitation. I highly recommend this product.
