Please accept my apologies for the last review. My opinion remains that I am very disappointed with this device. However, I shouldn't have turned down the way I did. I apologize for that. When I first received and used this separator I was over the moon with how it worked! My sister was also very impressed, so I ordered one as a "surprise" for Christmas. As I was pouring in my homemade broth to separate the fat this morning, I happened to look and the broth spilled over my counter! The stopper was not adjusted sufficiently to prevent the liquid from flowing out. After removing more than a cup of supplies from my counter, I took the separator apart and checked, but didn't find anything that would interfere with the seal's function. I poured hot water in hoping it would "puff up" the cork, didn't work. I rubbed in olive oil hoping to help seal but it didn't work! I ended up having to use extra weight to hold the cork in place before it stopped flowing. After working on it for about an hour, I finally threw it in the trash! I've used my separator for the fourth time, so the price and performance of the product don't really match.
