I never looked into travel locks until my last trip to Cuba. In Cuba it is very important to secure your belongings because if you lose something while traveling you cannot replace it. I ordered this lock last minute before my trip (it arrived the next day, thank goodness for Revain Prime) and I was very happy with it. It only took me about a minute to go through the instructions and install the combo. Remember that you must use a combination that you remember because if you forget it you will not be able to open the lock again. I have a suitcase with hard sides and in combination with this lock I felt that my belongings are completely safe. We had an incident in my tour group where one of the fellow travelers ran out of toothpaste, sunscreen and shampoo. Instead of asking to borrow supplies, she opened other people's suitcases and took supplies out of them while we were on the bus (she got caught). After this incident I noticed new scratches on the suitcase near the lock and wondered if she was also trying to get into my suitcase. I was very pleased with the tranquility the chateau offered because if she took my sunscreen I wouldn't be able to buy any more (it's sold out in Cuba) and that would mean Sunburn City for my pale skin.
