Review on ☕ Premium K&J Charcoal Water Filter Pods - 12-Pack Filters for Coffee Maker | Compatible Keurig Filter Replacement (2.0 and older) by Paul Ruberto

Revainrating 5 out of 5

If your car hums, it's not the filter.

The filter works very well, especially compared to the one (at work) that nobody has changed for more than a year. The taste of coffee is much better! Make sure the reservoir is empty when you change the filter, and refill the filter by rinsing it under the tap and making a couple of non-coffee infusions before getting down to real coffee. just my own misfortune and in no way the fault of these filters, but if I'm stupid enough to do it, I'm sure others are too. I hope this helps others to "fix" their machines. Our particular model basically has an inverted cup under the filter that holds the filter and its handle in place. Our first mistake was replacing the filter when the tank was full. The inverted "cup" forced an air bubble into the pump, causing it to growl and almost not work. After figuring out what was going on we took everything apart and then did the same thing again, pumping even more air into the pump causing it to not work at all and growl horribly. (This all happens at 8am at work before coffee. Imagine zombie monkeys trying to fix bugs during acute caffeine withdrawal.) We honestly thought it was broken. God bless my colleague for his perseverance. He googled the problem and apparently the solution, which isn't specifically stated in the manual, is to unplug the machine, remove the bin and shake the machine vigorously. Pretend he owes you money. Keep shaking. They pump air out of the pump. Set up, connect, fill the tank. And that's when I figured out the whole "reverse air cup" thing. I added the filter back in and it started growing again. My colleague took it apart, shook it, put it back together and (understandably) yelled at me for trying to put the filter back in (because it kept growling/getting worse as I added the filter). This time I looked for an air bubble and found it. I could have drained the tank, added a filter and refilled the tank - like an adult - but I just tampered with the filter housing to push the bubble out and got out of there. Normal function restored, caffeine withdrawal delayed. And the coffee tastes better now!
