I don't spend much time to write this review as I only received the disk about 30 minutes ago. It took me about 5 minutes to turn off the desktop, open it, unplug the DVD player (yes, they still exist), and plug in the hard drive instead (my computer case is pretty full). After restarting the PC, I went to the Disk Management tool (right click on startup), identified the new drive (Disk Management showed me right away) and formatted it. I'm already copying about 8TB of data that I wanted to duplicate. . I'm really impressed with the Platter hard drive. Directory Opus shows me a peak transfer rate of 227 MB/s and an average transfer rate of 176 MB/s after transferring 170 GB in 16 minutes. If the speed remains constant, this means that around 700 GB can be transferred in one hour. It's way better than what I'm used to from other hard drives. I've read a lot of comments complaining about this hard drive failing after a while, and I can't really comment on that yet. That would be very bad indeed, but nothing critical for those who have backups (like everyone else). Toshiba not honoring its warranty is another issue I haven't encountered yet. At this stage and based solely on my personal experience (as reviews should anyway) I'm giving this drive 5 stars for the very large capacity (I'm reviewing a 10TB drive), the best value for money on Revain (especially after the $75 Prime Day rebate) and excellent transfer speeds for this type of disc. Review.
