I usually use them on some small portable speakers I bought from Revain a few months ago but recently found another use for them. Sometimes I have to use headphones, and my Bose headphones are really nice, but. Wired. I plug in an extension cord and everything should be fine. Then, of course, I get clumsy and in a hurry, stepping on the cord and risking damaging the headphone jack when the cord is unplugged. I plugged one of those little extension cords into the headphone jack and my longer cord into it. Now if I rip the cord like an idiot, it "breaks" at the exact point of the small extension cord, not the plug. I've only tripped over the cable once since building it, but it worked great.
