The small diameter of the wheel and the cranked design initially make it difficult to control the initial direction of movement with a heavy load. If the wheels stayed aligned in the last direction of travel, it would take about a second for the wheels to align with the next intended direction of travel. This results in an unpredictable movement, but it seems that this is inherent in the design of the reels themselves, and not just that. Overall, I'm happy with the solid and quiet rollover on wooden surfaces.
