Honestly I don't mind that it's plastic, I mind that a tiny sheet of metal is wound so badly that it doesn't sit tightly on the plastic - so loose that even the metal can't be sanded, you actually have to 1 Grab /8 inches of the plastic protruding from the front for sanding. This means that you cannot use these grinders if your hands are even slightly damp (as is often the case when cooking). Not only do the grinders not work properly because the entire metal surface slides handleless over the plastic, but aesthetically it shows just how cheap the grinder is. Poorly fastened sheet metal that slides freely around the mill without offering grinding ability also have very unsightly seams where machinists have very poorly turned the sheet metal into a sleeve. A huge gap juts out from the top, and from the bottom it looks like a huge piece of metal. In general, he is extremely bad at his only job in life - grinding salt and pepper. I'm not sure how a company can fail so terribly with something so simple and cheap for quality assurance, but that's what I get when I buy cheap.
