We have hard well water. They were only there a few days. As long as there is no white dust. If we get all the planned 45 days, it's cheaper than distilled water. Update: Operate our humidifier 24/7 and refill the tank daily. No visible white dust after the recommended 45 days on anything in the room except my reading glasses, which I leave on a desk about 5 feet from the humidifier. I think it's a good way to keep track of when it's time to change the filter.☺. I hope to get through the rest of winter with the leftover filter.
