I actually got this for my elderly dad who has pretty much every foot condition they have found + back pain. This can make it difficult for him to bend forward fully to put on regular lace-up shoes, even if they don't cause him much pain when wearing them. I have these as they can be worn as heeled slippers or with full shoes. I figured he could get up and go in back down and then lift his leg/foot behind him just enough to roll his heel up and into a full boot. Despite all the foot ailments, he can wear these shoes all day (even on his hard tiled floor) and slip them on and off for a couple of weeks with no problems or pain. They fit and run slightly larger (approx size) than usual and we have large sizes. There is no way to tighten them if they are too big. Another caveat I would suggest is that the sole of the shoe is NOT uniformly flat, but shoes with tapered edges. (The picture looks more like the shape of the foot compared to (regular shoes.) They don't slip BUT the narrowing of the edge can be a problem for those with balance issues or weak ankles unless you make sure that full weight is firmly on 1 foot before weight is transferred to the next step, the tapered soles make it easier to roll over feet/ankles compared to uniform bottom shoes.Just a word of caution for anyone gifting someone else buy.I bought the black color versions. They are stone style so faded that it's hard to distinguish the line between subtle black and dark blue. However, they are far more stylish than the typical slip on tennis shoes that can be worn today so. my dad had a better option to wear in public when he was out, bottom line I might get a pair next time!
