Review on Rosewill RCR-IC001 USB 2.0 3.5-Inch Internal Card Reader & USB Port with Extra Silver Face Plate (RCR-IC001) by Sean Flint

I bought two of these from Revain in 2014 and installed them on 2 different computers. One failed after about 2 years and the other failed in the last few days. The problem is that when you insert a working SD card, Windows 10 does not recognize it. If we look in "Disk Manager" we can see that Windows found the card, but it shows it as "unallocated" - this means that the card reader could not find a section , although there is actually a good section. I also have a Transcend USB card reader that reads the card just as well as my camera. With simple troubleshooting it becomes clear that the Rosewill card reader has failed - in fact both have failed with the same problem on two different computers. I was surprised that this card reader failed. I have a lot of Rosewill stuff and they usually make good stuff - electronic accessories for enthusiasts who build their own computers. In this case, the product does not meet their high standards. I would buy Rosewill again but would be careful not to over-rely on their products in the future.
