I use these for burnishing gold, silver, and copper leaf. For that, they've been very good. Honestly, there's not much I can find wrong with these, there's several surfaces on each one for burnishing different ways.My only criticism is the "point" part is. Well, it's TOO pointy, to where it's more likely to gouge than burnish (I actually used it for that, to write into dried plaster of Paris). I've got small fiddly gilded areas that need a smaller surface, but the point on these is just too pointy (I would up scratching a bit off, had to re-gild that part).Overall, good value, good for burnishing flatter areas. Might need to look for another one for the little books and crannies, but I'm happy.
