I had a small collection of ten year old audiocassettes of memories that I wanted to digitize and burn to CD for my family and I chose the Fly Kan product because of the price, ease of use and reviews. Of course I already had a tape recorder with a headphone jack. The process was pretty simple: plug one end into the headphone jack on my portable stereo (or "boom box," to use the obsolete term) and the USB end into (in my case) a Windows 10 Surface Book laptop (Audacity) and start copying. As you might have guessed, dubbing sound quality was heavily dependent on the quality of the source. Some takes sound good; some of them have a "hissing" sound that almost completely drowns out the target sound. I'll try tweaking some settings (e.g. playback volume) to see if that affects the worst dubs. I might also consider looking into a different cassette player, maybe with separate LR output jacks, to see if that improves the quality. Although I really can't complain in this price range. I would say that 80% of my dubs are of at least decent quality. If changing the settings can help me reduce the remaining 20%, say by half, then I'm _really_ happy.
