Review on Red Kaito KA500IP Voyager Solar/Dynamo AM/FM/SW NOAA Weather Radio with Alert and Cell Phone Charger by Robert Tyus

Received this radio today and have been playing with it for several hours now. It is excellent. The sound quality is excellent for a small speaker. Reception is good when the antenna is set to VHF and shortwave. Reception can seem a little patchy at times, but this might be the area I'm in as I'm in a more rural area where it's harder to get a signal. I didn't like the battery compartment either. Glaze. Looks very fragile and can break easily. I feel like they could rethink that lid a bit and make it a little bit stronger. The flashlight part is a week and could be improved by adding a few LEDs. In addition, a flashlight is also turned on to use the watch face illumination function. This can lead to more battery drain. The backlight of the dial should be separate from the flashlight. All in all a great device and I am very happy with it. I gave 4 stars because of the flashlight on the dial and the battery door. Other than that, this is a great buy. I would recommend them as a purchase and their price range. However, I wouldn't recommend it for children as there are some spots that can break quite easily. If you are considering buying this radio, you can't go wrong at this price. It has great features, great sound and works as promised. Update 9/15/18 I had to return this product as the solar panel stopped working. For the price we're paying for this radio, the solar panel shouldn't fail in just a few weeks. I've downgraded this item to two stars because I still think it's a great radio, but after only a week or two of use and not even very light use there shouldn't be an issue. Do not buy this radio
