UPDATED: This is not waterproof. Really disappointed to find out this suit is not waterproof a few months after my son got caught in the rain. The rain was pouring through his hood and his hat was wet. I would not recommend it. My son gets a million compliments wearing this snowsuit. I mean a million, every day when we go out it gets compliments and everyone wants to know where I bought it. plus everything columbia promises to keep - warm, waterproof, weatherproof, frost resistant down to -25 - they held up! In fact my son complains that he's too hot lol. so I don't have to add multiple shifts to my son when we go out. Thermal is therefore not required. I always check on my son when we get home and his skin is always nice and warm. This is a great winter overall, wish they had the right accessories. I highly recommend this suit and did I mention its light weight!
