Our baby was able to get out of the diaper (yes, incl. Velcro fastener) from birth. We couldn't keep him swaddled and his movements would wake him up. We ordered this from Australia on the recommendation of a friend and we loved it. Our son slept in it until he was 4 months old when we got the 50/50 Lite version and upgraded him to a sleeping bag. This swaddling was successful for us because 1) our son was still able to suck his hands, rub his face, and perform other soothing activities that he couldn't do with his arms at his sides, 2) he couldn't wriggle out and wake up, 3) we never had to take it off to change, feed, etc. Also, they make winter, summer, and transitional versions. Good product. The only downside I can think of is that you don't have to machine dry them. We bought 2 so we always have one available while the other dries. However, at one point we accidentally dried one (it had to happen) and when I compared it to the undried one, I didn't see any difference. Just my personal experience!
