This is a fun little pottery wheel that is fairly easy to use and can be put away when not in use. However, the engine is not the most powerful. So when you press down on the clay it can stop the wheel which is quite annoying especially when trying to center your clay. But after reading reviews of similar products, I fully expected this, and you just need to find a different technique and a lighter touch of the middle and work with the tone. The device holds a charge, so turn it on, let it charge, and use it without being tethered to a power source. As for the charge life, I don't know. The handle rotates on the wheel and adjusts the speed from slow to fast. The toggle switch toggles between clockwise and counterclockwise rotation. The wheel itself can be removed, it is attached to the engine with a screw. Finally I added a helpful addition to take a round plastic container, cut the sides off so I could still work on the wheel and cut a hole in the bottom for the pole that the wheel sits on. This picks up a lot of excess clay that gets thrown away as you work, and makes your workspace a little cleaner.
