Bought this converter for a recent trip to Italy. We have used it in every hotel and it has worked great. This turned out to be very practical, because in some hotel rooms there was only one socket for the whole room. We didn't even have to use our cell phone chargers. We could just plug phones/tablets into the USB jacks on the side of the converter. I've found that if you plug something into all 4 USB sockets and then try to plug something into the sockets, the converter will overload (I think). We found our tablet charging for 10 seconds and then not charging for 10 seconds. Then charge for 10 seconds. As soon as we disconnected something, everything charged back to normal. It didn't really matter and could be related to the electricity in the hotel.
