This is a short, compact metal phone mount that fits into tight spaces. My motorcycle does not have a windshield or fairing. I wanted my phone to be visible to the GPS but tucked under the dash to protect it from bug spray and other road hazards. But as you can see from the photos there isn't much room and the larger phone holders block access to the ignition and also prevent me from seeing the instrument cluster. My phone is Moto X4, 7.99mm (5/16). ") thick and 148.35mm x 73.5mm (5 7/8" x 2 15/16") with a 5.2" screen. I have a thin case and the mount seems to hold it securely. I have a safety net (similar to the one that comes with the ram mounts) for extra security. The tensioning mechanism has large tolerances, and I'm a little concerned about its vibration on long rides. With the thumbscrew design, I think it would be relatively easy to put a thick rubber o-ring on top and keep the screw from loosening to tighten it. Overall I am happy with the mount and it works well. with my steering wheel.
