Okay, I bought a 12 inch Scanpan 2000 a few years before the turn of the century. After using it for a while I spent the money on a heavy glass lid to use when needed. The pan worked great for a couple of years, but probably about 10 years ago the nonstick quality just didn't help. As a Dutch Oven user, I have re-seasoned the pan several times, as cast iron sometimes has to be used. usually with a bang. After reading reviews of current Scanpan pans, I decided to try the new pan. I ordered a recent 14" pan which I don't use much but when it's needed it's great. I tried it and it turned. I donated my old 14 inch nonstick pan to the church kitchen. This 14-inch pan distributed heat better, and the shallow worked better. I wiped out a little in the old pan, then put it in the box the new one came in and mailed it. to a Scanpan dealer in California with a request for "overhaul, repair or replacement". I didn't have high expectations but thought it would be worth a try. To my surprise a package arrived about a month later with a brand new 12" scanner that works very well and still has the old heavy glass cover on it. Big unexpected surprise! If my experience proves any clue, it's that the company really does stands behind its products!
