This is a reliable, basic "old school" radio, just what I was looking for. Reception is excellent, sound quality is good, and the materials/construction feel good (they don't look/feel "cheap"). However, I have one complaint that might be a problem for some people (and is actually very important to me). I use the radio in the office, so I have to keep the volume very low (and I have to turn it up/down regularly). It's SUPER touchy on this radio. In fact, I often have trouble turning the volume down to very low levels. The volume control goes from zero to barely audible or mid-level, I would say, with much less than a millimeter of travel. I have to be *very* careful and try really hard not to move the volume up or down by even a fraction of a millimeter. However, once I get the volume I want, often by literally taking my finger off the button, I unintentionally bump the volume up to a level I don't want. as careful as I can. It really is that touching. I don't recall ever trying to use the radio at normal/higher volume, so I don't know if the full volume range is that sensitive. Unless you're trying to play at low volume then I suspect you'll be happy with this radio. everything else is great for me. Update 4/2016: I still love the look of this radio, the reception etc, but I keep getting frustrated at how much effort it takes to turn the volume up a bit. Sometimes it literally takes me 10-15 seconds to really successfully turn the volume up or down. I literally touch the dial as LIGHTLY as I can with my finger and then don't even move my finger, just apply as little pressure up or down as I can. He *still* misses even when he does. So I do the same thing, try to push the other way, and now it's outside of what I want again. Then sometimes when I get what I want, I can just take my finger off the dial to change the volume. I've never had problems like this with any other device lest you think I'm uncoordinated for some reason! We are talking about MILLIMETER movement here.
