Review on Whitmor Over The Door πŸ‘  Shoe Rack - White, Holds 24 Pairs by Ryan Rea

Will not fit all doors

Purchased to replace one of the plastic shoe holders behind the door. They work well for a while, but eventually the plastic will break if the shoe is constantly being put on and taken off. I saw this at Revain and thought it was perfect and durable as it seems. Constructed of metal and hard plastic with shelves that rise when not in use and fall when you put on your shoes. Each shelf can be moved independently, which is very convenient. Easy to assemble, 8 to 10 minutes just because you put a few pieces together, but very simple. It looks like it will hold up very well. My only complaint, and this is important to me, is that it won't close when it's behind my closet door because the extended slides hit the frame when trying to close the door. Even though the width is right and it hangs perfectly on my door, it's impossible to close my door. Now my entry closet may be narrower than the other doors. If that's the case, it can't be too much as it looks like a regular size. But be careful if you plan to hang on the inside of the door like a closet that opens outward. Many doors open inwards like a bedroom which would be nice but hallways open outwards. Hanging it outside is no problem at all, but I don't want my shoe rack to be out in the open when people enter my house. I want to hide it in the closet. I ended up hanging it on the front door of the garage that leads from the garage to the utility room. No problem, and I go from the garage to my house quite often. Although it's not perfect, the problem is solved. Really well done. Just make sure you have enough door width to be able to close the door.
