I wanted a good alternative to the booming Sony WH-1000XM3 and after reading the reviews on the rtings I expected the opus to sound like their sound profile looks really good in the review. I've only been using them for a few days and I really like how they sound. Their material feel is a true premium pair of headphones. Very comfortable for long periods of wear. But I only give 3 stars because they are supposed to be ANC headphones, which in practice can't even eliminate the simple sound of a jet from a great height when I'm in my room with the window open. But my main complaint is the loud and fairly pronounced static hissing in both ears, which is really annoying as it can be heard even with the music on. My only hope was to get the latest firmware (1.3.0.0) which could potentially improve these things, but unfortunately the Razer Opus app was unable to download and apply the update, which I left a separate review for on the Play Store. Consider leaving them for a while before the return period is up if you can get new firmware with a newer app that has issues fixed. Otherwise it is difficult to recommend them now. UPDATED: We managed to update the firmware, but it didn't fix the noise issue. I was willing to accept NC-level quality in favor of its sound profile, but the NC's hissing noise put me off. What's more, I took the headphones with me on a freeway trip for a hangout (as a passenger) and felt every bump in the road echo with an annoying hum that hit my ears. Also, my support request wasn't answered until 2 weeks after receiving my first email, which doesn't contribute to a positive overall rating. Send her back!
