I needed a camera so I could keep an eye on my horses while they were riding in my trailer. This reversing camera filled the bill for me. As shown in the photo I installed the camera in the front of the trailer using the license plate frame as the mounting mechanism. Instead of turning on the camera with the taillight, I connected to one of the trailer's side running lights so whenever I had my trailer lights on, the camera was on. Devices for connecting wires are included. The WiFi signal transmits a high-resolution image to my Android phone. The app had to be downloaded for the phone to run the monitoring function, but that was easy. There are similar trailer camera systems, this backup camera application is less expensive than many of the "as built" horse trailers. Interior surveillance systems available for purchase. I doubt the practicality of using my phone as a monitor if I was only going to use this system as a backup camera, but I think it would work if I was backing up to hook up my car to a trailer.
