My teddy bear hamster lives like a kingpin now. This cage is primarily a boss; It's really strong and the bottom plastic piece is 5" or 6" tall providing solid protection against chips thrown by your pet. It also provides him/her with a darkened space to cool down when he/she is not at higher levels. The cage wasn't fully curved like other cages I've tried and it was very tight on the plastic floor as intended. . The processing is very good. The shelves are made of high-quality plastic and form a small plate at each level, so seeds or other items on these shelves will not simply roll down. This cage is HUGE. I'll post a photo to show but it's gigantic. My stuffed hamster is crazy about him; Running up and down stairs, climbing rungs, jumping three flights of stairs etc. he loves it and does exactly what I wanted which was to give him more space to play and move around. Hamsters love to climb and this is great exercise. There are many pull-up and climbing exercises for this hamster. Now it completely ignores the wheel. Did I mention this cage is huge? Part of that definition is that this cage is also very large. I was concerned my hamster would jump to his death he is so big but the plastic ladder slides are very wide and end up covering most of the open space. So if he slips or misreads the jump, he won't fall that far. Also, I know he will be strong and muscular enough not to get hurt. at least while he's young. This cage can easily accommodate 2 large rats or a chinchilla, farret, weasel etc and still have plenty of space. If you want to treat your little animal to the best pimp cage, look no further.
